SEPA Direct Debit is offered in cooperation with our payment partner Verifone Payments. It allows your customers to pay the invoice amount conveniently via bank debit, while you as a merchant typically receive your funds within a few business days after the goods have been shipped.

Who can use SEPA Direct Debit?
SEPA Direct Debit is available to customers who hold a bank account in one of the SEPA member countries.
This payment method is offered to both private individuals and business customers.
Please note that, although the use of different shipping addresses is technically permitted, we recommend using identical billing and shipping addresses as a precautionary measure to prevent fraud.
How it works
Once SEPA Direct Debit is enabled in your checkout, it becomes available to your customers as a payment option.
During the checkout process, the customer selects “Direct Debit” and is prompted to enter their IBAN and provide consent for the SEPA mandate.
Following this, the customer receives an email containing all mandate details.
Depending on your configuration, the SEPA mandate is activated either immediately or after the goods have been shipped.
The payment is then processed within 1–2 business days, and the payout to you as the merchant is triggered automatically.

The conditions and fees for SEPA Direct Debit via Verifone are defined individually per merchant.

How to install the Verifone SEPA Direct Debit
Step 1: Create a free Payever Business Account
First, set up your free Payever Business Account according to your requirements. It is recommended to thoroughly set up your business before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2: Install the Verifone SEPA Direct Debit
First, open the Connect app by clicking on the “Connect” button.
Then, search the list of available options for Verifone Direct Debit, either by scrolling or using the search bar. Click Install.
Step 3: Configure the Verifone Direct Debit
Once the Verifone Direct Debit is installed and activated, click on "Open" to configure the payment option.
Enter your personal Merchant ID, which you received from Verifone.
After you have successfully established a connection, you can determine whether the customer should be forwarded directly to the store or not. If this is activated, your customer will be redirected to your order confirmation/ thank you page after completing the payment.
You can also choose when and how the capture should be made:
- Select Auto-Capture on fulfilment (recommended) if you want the payment to be activated when you are notified that the goods have been dispatched. It then initially has the status ACCEPTED and only changes to PAID when the dispatch notification is sent to payever. You can report the dispatch of goods directly in the payever account (transaction details -> “Goods dispatched”) or trigger it automatically via your store system (varies depending on the store system, e.g. automatically in Shopware 5 when the status changes to “Fully delivered”).
- Select Auto-Capture on authorization if the payment is to be automatically activated directly on approval. It will then immediately receive the PAID status and your customer will also receive the payment request immediately. Please note that you may only use this option if the following conditions are met:
- You generally ship your orders very promptly (within approx. three working days of receiving the order).
- You only sell the stock in your online store that you actually have in stock - i.e. you do not use drop shipping or order picking (order/purchase order to manufacturer/wholesaler only after customer order) and you do not make individual products to order.
- Select manual capture if payment is to be made exclusively by manual capture in the payever platform. We do not usually recommend this setting as it would mean too much manual effort for most merchants.
Don't forget to click Save and Done to apply changes.

Direct Debit payments via Verifone Payments enable merchants using the Payever platform to accept SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) direct debit transactions.
