Bancontact is one of the most commonly used payment systems in Belgium. It allows users to make secure and efficient payments using their debit card, both in physical stores and online. Accepted by a wide range of merchants, Bancontact is a trusted and convenient alternative to cash for everyday transactions. Payments are processed directly through the customer’s bank, offering a seamless experience without the need for third-party accounts. For added flexibility, users can also choose to make mobile payments via the “Payconiq by Bancontact” app, which supports QR code payments, contactless transactions, and transfers between individuals. We pass on all Bancontact fees to you with no surcharge. If you already have a Bancontact account, the conditions agreed will be retained when you switch to payever.
How to install Bancontact in your payever account
In order to configure Bancontact, first open the Checkout app. To do this, either click on the Checkout symbol under Business Apps or click on the Manage or Open button on the Checkout section.
You can find the payment methods tab in the navigation bar on the left.
Then click on + Add.
Now a list of different payment methods appears, from which you will need to select Bancontact. To do so, please click on install.
After you have successfully installed the payment method, click Open.
Once the installed payment method is opened, you will be asked to enter your Bancontact credentials. The necessary credentials (Contract ID) will be provided to you by Bancontact directly and must be entered here in order to activate the payment option in your payever account. Confirm by clicking connect.
Display Settings
You can configure how the payment method is presented to your customers during the checkout process. This includes customizing the display text and logo, defining the countries in which the payment method is available, and setting minimum and maximum transaction amount limits.
These settings allow you to ensure that the payment method is shown only to the appropriate customers and under the desired conditions.

How to activate Bancontact in your payever account
You can activate or deactivate the payment method in your payever account at any time. If you deactivate the payment methods by clicking the toggle switch, they will automatically disappear from your shop without you having to configure this in your shops backend (of course, this also works the other way around - when activating a payment method).
How to use Bancontact in the Checkout
Enter your customer's information and select Bancontact as the preferred payment method.
After clicking Pay, you will be redirected to the Bancontact page, where your customer can securely enter their Bancontact card details to authorize the payment.
