In order to rule out unauthorised access to your account as far as possible, we ask to additionally enter a one-time code if you log in to your account from a configuration that is not yet known to us (e.g. foreign IP, unknown, device, unknown browser).
You will receive the code by email (to the email you used to register with us).
Please enter the code within the next 10 minutes, to complete your login. The code expires after 10 minutes, but you can request a new code by clicking “resend”.
FAQ
What can I do, if I didn’t receive the Email?
If you have not received the e-mail, follow the next steps in this guide.
How often do I have to enter a One-Time Code when logging in?
The 2FA is only required, if the login attempts come in a way that we have not yet recorded in connection with your account (your login email address), meaning the combination of fingerprint (e.g. “intel windows 10, firefox 80” or “intel Mac osx 10_14_5, chrome 77”) and IP address (e.g. 120.56.222.94).
If you log in to the same payever account on the same device, browser or network as always, you usually only have to enter the password and not the one-time code.
Please note, that in certain cases, even when using the same device, browser and network, there may be repeated 2FA queries - this might be the case, for example, if your browser version has been updated in the meantime, or if you are connected to a VPN or connected to a network that gives us other, possibly changing IPs.
(Note: in this section we assume that you have set the default settings for 2FA in your account - it is generally also possible for you to permanently activate 2FA in your account, so that the query for the one-time code is only possible with every login, regardless of device, browser or IP. You are welcome to do this under "Settings > General > Password > Two-factor authentication" if you prefer a higher security level).
Can I turn off the 2FA entirely?
No - it is not up to the individual user to turn off 2FA completely. If you contact our support (support@payever.de), the colleagues there may decide to suspend 2FA for your user for a certain period of time (e.g. if you have not received the email by the time which you need to clarify the whereabouts of the email or to obtain a whitelisting of our email from your admin/provider).
We do no offer general and permanent deactivation of 2FA.
